The main theme for the National COVID-19 Immunization Programme is ‘Protect Yourself, Protect All’ (‘Lindungi Diri, Lindungi Semua’). It is to emphasize that protection for all Malaysians will only be achieved if we can vaccinate as many eligible individuals as possible. Hence, TRAPO would like to encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
What is the COVID-19 vaccine?
The COVID-19 vaccine is to stimulate the human’s immune system to respond to the Covid-19 infection if the body is exposed to the virus. All COVID-19 vaccines approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Division (NPRA) for use in Malaysia are safe and effective to use. NPRA is known as the governing body responsible for evaluating the vaccines that are to be registered in Malaysia.
Why take the Covid-19 vaccine?
The use of the COVID-19 vaccine is one of the procedures taken to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. However, compliance of SOPs and the practice of the new norms such as wearing face masks, maintaining daily hygiene and physical distancing will still be needed in practice until many residents have received the vaccination.
Who can receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
All individuals who are aged 18 years or older. However, there are some part of the community needs further consideration for the vaccination, such as:-
Pregnant women and nursing mothers
COVID-19 positive individuals
Individuals who have immune system issues
Individuals who have severe allergies
When can I receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
Candidates will receive confirmation of the date of vaccination and assigned Vaccination Distribution Centre (PPV) two weeks (earliest) or two days (latest) before their scheduled appointment. Appointment information such as date and location of the vaccination appointment will be notified via MySejahtera application, phone call or SMS.
How do I register for COVID-19 vaccination?
Registration for COVID-19 vaccination can be carried out through the MySejahtera application, through www.vaksincovid.gov.my, registration at Government or Private health facilities and outreach programs in rural & village areas.
